Someone Like You

Maybe in another life, you’re missing me too

Even though I heard all of your dreams came true

Maybe in time, we will meet again

Maybe someday there’ll be someone like you

I can’t stop myself from thinking about everything we could have been

But our vivid memories are growing grey and thin

We promised to be together until the end

But the day you left me, I lost my best friend

Our memories are stuck to me like glue

And if I’m being honest, there’s nothing I could do

To stop my mind from wandering off

It never stopped looking for you

In every aspect of my life, there was always something missing

The candles on my cake will always leave me wishing

If only you knew the number of mistakes I would un-do

For in life you can’t start over, there are no re-dos

I’d give anything in the world

To go back in time

To be brand new

I always thought there was nothing we couldn’t be

But now there’s no future to foresee

You said that this was all for the better

So screw you and the entire bourgeoisie

Because even though I lost you.

I ended up finding me.
